Hello, I’m Gail, and I have been a professional counsellor in the Staffordshire area for over 18 years.

I originally began training as a counsellor because I was concerned about how the world seemed to be progressing and I wanted to make a positive difference to that world. Helping people through their difficult and painful life challenges seemed a good place to start.

I am now a fully trained counsellor and have British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Senior Accredited status. This organisation is the largest counselling body in the UK and describes those having senior accreditation as ‘experienced, mature and accomplished practitioners’.

I am also bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and subject to its Professional Conduct Procedure, which ensures a high standard of care for you throughout our time together.

In the last 18 years I have met with people who have had a variety of problems and I have attempted to work with them in a variety of settings in order to enhance my experience. Whatever the issue I will do my very best for you.

Why Counselling?

It can be difficult sometimes to talk to friends and family about certain issues or to feel, in certain circumstances, that they have the knowledge required to help us.

Counselling is a confidential process which enables you to express and explore your feelings or thoughts so you can work through these problems and gain some resolution.

I will be working with you, helping you to explore yourself and your environment so you can better understand the choices open to you.

‘I will truly listen, respect and attempt to understand your concerns’.

‘My aim is to provide a warm and down to earth environment where you will feel comfortable enough to open up, be honest and move forward with your life’ – Gail Knight
